“A high-speed wildlife photograph of a common kingfisher bursting out of a still river with a small silver fish in its beak, frozen at 1/8000 s. Wings swept back, every electric-blue and orange feather sharp, a crown of water droplets and a rising column of splash caught in mid-air, each droplet reflecting the sky. Low side light from the early morning sun, dark green out-of-focus reeds in the background, the bird's reflection broken up in the rippled water below. “A clean editorial infographic titled "HOW SOURDOUGH IS MADE" in bold dark-brown sans-serif capitals at the top, on a warm cream background. Five numbered steps run in a gentle S-curve connected by a dotted line, each with a flat illustrated icon and a short label set in a clear sans-serif: "1 FEED THE STARTER" with a glass jar of bubbly starter, "2 MIX & REST" with a ceramic bowl of shaggy dough, "3 STRETCH & FOLD" with two hands lifting dough, "4 SHAPE & PROOF" with a round banneton basket, "5…” “A clean editorial infographic titled "HOW SOURDOUGH IS MADE" in bold dark-brown sans-serif capitals at the top, on a warm cream background. A small footer line reads "Total time: about 24 hours". Limited palette of cream, wheat gold, terracotta and dark brown, even spacing, generous margins, flat vector style with subtle paper grain.”

“A screen-printed event poster for a summer night market. The headline "NIGHT MARKET" fills the top third in tall condensed white capitals with a slight ink misregistration. Beneath it a stylised illustration of a street lined with food stalls under strings of paper lanterns, steam rising from woks, small silhouetted figures carrying bowls, a crescent moon above the rooftops. A coral banner across the lower part reads "EVERY FRIDAY IN JULY", and the bottom line in small capitals reads "RIVERSIDE…” “A screen-printed event poster for a summer night market. “A photographic portrait of a potter in her sixties at work in a small studio, shot on a 85mm lens at f/2. She has silver hair tied back, clay-dusted forearms and a linen apron, and looks down with quiet concentration at a tall vase turning on the wheel between her wet hands. Soft north light from a window on the left rakes across her face and picks out the ridges her fingers leave in the clay. Behind her, out of focus, shelves of unglazed bowls and jars. “A photograph of a hand-painted mural on a whitewashed brick wall outside a neighbourhood cafe. The mural is a stack of five greetings, each on its own line in a different colour and lettering style, all sharp and correctly spelled: "WELCOME" in bold teal sign-painter capitals, "BIENVENUE" in flowing red script, "WILLKOMMEN" in black blackletter, "ようこそ" in thick navy brush strokes, and "WITAMY" in rounded mustard-yellow letters. “A studio product photograph of three matte cylindrical tea tins standing in a row on a pale stone surface against a soft sage-green backdrop. Each tin carries a clean, perfectly legible wrap-around label with a small line drawing above the name: the left tin is forest green and reads "JASMINE PEARL" with "Green Tea · 80 g" beneath, the middle tin is terracotta and reads "SMOKED EARL GREY" with "Black Tea · 100 g", the right tin is cream and reads "CHAMOMILE HONEY" with "Herbal Infusion · 60 g".…” “A studio product photograph of three matte cylindrical tea tins standing in a row on a pale stone surface against a soft sage-green backdrop. Soft diffused light from the upper left, gentle shadows, crisp edges.”

“A precise labelled technical illustration of a mechanical watch movement seen from the back, drawn in fine ink lines with soft watercolour tints on white paper. Thin straight leader lines connect seven parts to neat sans-serif labels arranged around the drawing without overlapping: "MAINSPRING BARREL", "CENTRE WHEEL", "THIRD WHEEL", "ESCAPE WHEEL", "PALLET FORK", "BALANCE WHEEL" and "CROWN". “Turn this pencil sketch into a finished studio product photograph of the same desk lamp. Keep the proportions and shapes from the sketch: the round base, the single curved arm and the cone-shaped shade. Make the lamp matte sage green with a brass joint and a warm light switched on, standing on a light oak desk against a soft grey wall. Remove the construction lines, arrows and paper.” “Turn this pencil sketch into a finished studio product photograph of the same desk lamp. “Show the man from the first image and the woman from the second image sitting side by side at a small wooden table on a cafe terrace, each holding a cup of coffee and laughing together. Keep both faces, his beard and glasses, her red hair and freckles, and their clothing exactly as in the references. “Place this exact bottle on a wet, moss-covered stone beside a shallow forest stream, with ferns and soft dappled sunlight in the background and a few water droplets on the glass. Keep the bottle's shape, amber colour, black cap and label unchanged, and print "NORTHWOOD" in small black capitals with "Face Oil · 30 ml" beneath it on the label. “Translate all the text on this poster into Spanish and keep everything else identical: the illustration, the three ink colours, the layout and the lettering style. The headline becomes "MERCADO NOCTURNO", the banner becomes "TODOS LOS VIERNES DE JULIO", and the bottom line becomes "MUELLE DEL RÍO · DESDE LAS 18 H · ENTRADA LIBRE"” “Translate all the text on this poster into Spanish and keep everything else identical: the illustration, the three ink colours, the layout and the lettering style. “Re-render this portrait as a two-colour linocut print in black and deep teal on cream paper, with bold carved lines, visible gouge marks and slightly uneven ink. The man must stay clearly recognisable: same face shape, beard, round glasses, sweater and slight smile, same head-and-shoulders framing.” “Re-render this portrait as a two-colour linocut print in black and deep teal on cream paper, with bold carved lines, visible gouge marks and slightly uneven ink. Frequently Asked Questions

Google's image generation and editing model and the successor to Nano Banana 2. It is strongest where layout and wording have to be right: posters, packaging, infographics, labelled diagrams, and edits that must keep a person or a product recognisable.
Google reports better visual quality, prompt adherence, subject consistency and text rendering, with the largest gains in infographic design, mask-based editing and multi-character consistency. On deAPI it also costs less: about half the price of Nano Banana 2 at 1K and 2K. The 512 px tier of Nano Banana 2 is gone; the smallest tier is now 1K.
Partner models run on our partners' infrastructure rather than on deAPI's own GPU network. deAPI acts as the gateway: same unified API, same key, same job flow.
Partner models are not available on the free tier. Make at least one payment to deAPI and your account moves to Premium. The model then appears in your /models response. Until then it is absent from your model list entirely, and calling it by slug returns a plan error. Discover models at runtime rather than hardcoding them.
Send the image with an instruction that says what should change and what should stay. For a targeted change, name the element ("change only the jacket to a rust-orange raincoat, keep everything else the same"). To point at a region instead, draw over it on the image itself, for example with a red scribble, and ask the model to replace the marked area and remove the marking. There is no separate mask parameter. You can pass up to 5 images in one request and refer to them by position: "the person in the first image", "the jacket in the second image".
Partner model prices are quoted as an estimate and settled once the job completes. Nano Banana 2.1 is billed on the tokens each request actually uses, and the resolution tier is the main factor: about $0.04 for a 1K image, $0.06 for 2K and $0.14 for 4K. The aspect ratio does not change the price. Each input image in an edit adds about $0.002, and a long prompt adds a fraction of a cent.
No. Describe what you want in the prompt itself. Write the scene you want rather than a list of things to avoid.
Make any payment to move your account to Premium, then open the playground and select Nano Banana 2.1, or pass "model": "nano-banana-2.1" to the standard image endpoints. See https://docs.deapi.ai for code examples.
